The ship’s home windows have been smashed by overflowing water, because the blackout wreaked havoc on the Hurtigruten Expeditions cruise ship.

The outage is known to have been attributable to a big wave – leaving 266 passengers and 131 crew members quickly stranded in the course of the North Sea.

Danish rescue operators managed to regain contact with the ship.
